Olga, I couldn't agree with you more - being a teacher is no easy task :) We hope you will have other opportunities to teach younger students and develop your teaching skills.

This was my first experience, I first learned what it means to be a teacher. I concluded that it is very difficult to be a teacher, but nevertheless, our dear teachers helps us learn new things and useful information that can help us in everyday. I liked this community development project. I liked that we learned small children new words and they were very satisfied .From this activity I have learned that nothing is easy, and that any event we need to know how to work in groups and learned how it is to be a teacher. I believe that young people should be involved in many activities not only locally because it is an interesting experience and everyone should find something interesting and new. For young people who have not heard of "service learning" I can tell them to participate because it are fun and interesting activities.

This experience is not the first but is the first experience in which I learned new things, the first of all the activities I learned how you can work with younger children, which are the ways to teach easiest foreign languages, and many wide useful things for me. I believe that whosoever would be interest to participate in community development, and also myself, I really like that we help change our community. I liked very much that the teacher we managed to attract children's attention to the information that we have provided for them, generally the entire project was full of activities we helped to develop our intellectual, to do some experiences unknown etc. .I learned that nothing is impossible and that everything can be done if there is a desire and potential to reach what you propose. It is better if young people should pay more attention to the development community as it develops and abilities, communication skills or being eaten, it is important that we are not indifferent to others. My advice to young people who have yet to hear of "service learning" to pay more attention to information that could learn new things that he can do something good for the community, so spend during nice and helpful.

Being my first service learning experience, it was a colossal opportunity for me . I enjoyed a lot engaging in these activities. First of all I became closer to my classmates. I had the chance to change something in the world .All this developed me like a person in different directions and also my communication skills. I changed a lot of opinions about life, how I should behave and for what I should be thankful. All this I learned from kids from "Speranta" center. Being able to see them , I understood that the world have a lot to give.

This was my first service learning experience and I liked it.I enjoyed all activities which I was involved in because I was engaging in a comunity development project and it's great. I enjoyed the most when we visited one centre from Cahul and we played with children there. They live with today life and they love every moment which they breath. They were so happy when we spent time together, it was a pleasure to come and help them. I think young people should do the same because sometimes we could help just with words and smile,it is very useful and in the same time interesting .We spent time well. We can help each other without engage of local authorities because we are all a part of a society,we have the same rights. Who never heard about Service Learning, they just take an interest about that and just try to do it,it's amazing! I liked it!!!

This experience was my first one and i am thankful that i had this opportunity to be useful in my community . It was a great journey trough experience and i enjoyed it. The most beautiful thing i did was helping kids without parents. This experience was a good leasson for me and my classmates , we learnt to appreciate what we have , also now we understand that someone needs our help and we must do it . I advice everyone to try be useful in their community because this is the only way to make a better world.

This was my first service learning experience and because I participated in this project I changed my view about a lot of things. In this project I liked to become friends with children from the center "Speranta", because they have a heart of gold full of love. From this activity I became more proficient in English and more sociable, but the most important thing I learned was that true wealth lies not in material wealth but in the spiritual one.For other young people of my age who have not heard of "service learning",I would tell them to go into such projects to have an unforgettable experience in which you learn a lot of new things.

It's the first time when I participated at an International Project. It was a very interesting work I hadn't done before.I acomplished a lot of asignments that needed many skills and abilities. We have been involved in our Service Learning Project being very curious and eager to do any volunteering activities. So, I and my collegues had a lot of ideas that we implimented very well in our work.Due to this project we became more communicative, more friendly and more sensitive at people's problems. We also used a lot of English in order to creat video report. I am proud of me and my collegues and very thankful to SERVICE LEARNING PROJECT that allowed us to experience something new. Also thank you to Daniela Munca-Aftenev who guided our work being very responsable.Congratulations to all us!

I am interested in engaging in different community projects, because I not only help others, but develop myself to. This project wasn't my first and in this one I enjoyed the most the opportunity to learn more about health while teaching others about important things like health care and pollution.

Yes,it was a great service learning for me.I liked it very such the community development project and engaging in it was an unforgettable experience. I enjoyed most the attitude of my colleagues for this project they were very interested in it: proposed different creative ideas, participated in the project's activities. It was a pleasure for me to work with teenagers with the same interests from my cummunity and from abroad. I changed a little bit my own life style for a healthy one. I noticed that people from my community are really interested in their health and are always ready to receive more information about it. I consider young people should get more engaged in their communities, because this way youths will develop theirselves and will try to make community better. I think they need to find out more information about it, to get involved in that kind of projects, because this way they will make new friends and will develop their personalities.

Being a school librarian, I did not have the access to a class as much as I would have liked. I also did not have access to taking students off campus. I based our project on a concept I used when I was in the classroom - reading buddies. I paired up my 4th or 5th graders with a kindergarten class for reading buddies. The students read books together and we also had fun during special holiday times of the year. I remembered the mentoring relationship my older students had with the younger ones. Remembering that program helped me figure out what to do this year when I saw my own kindergarten computer students progressing and realizing that an entire class was being left out of the learning. It's been such a success that I will be trying to add something similar to our school next year.

Julie, many of our teachers also focused on mentoring, so this was a great choice, even if you did not have many opportunities to take your students off campus. Good luck developing the initiative next year!

Hello Daniela, We realized we didnt have a RECYCLING club which meant our students didnt really know much about recycling and why it is very necessary. So the students voted on creating one and that is exactly what they did. They ordered the bins form the sanitation of Charlotte, NC and had them delivered to our school. Then they educated the students as well as themselves and finally they put together an entire basketball game the day before spring break to get every student in the the spirit. The club has been going strong and we hope to continue it along next year.

This was my first service learning project experience and it was wonderful. I enjoyed engaging in a community development project, especially in one that spreads awareness about an important concept such as recycling. I enjoyed being a part of a team who were planning an important event that will hopefully have spread the importance of recycling to other students and the community. I liked brainstorming ideas, going around and collecting recyclables from classrooms, and helping my team plan for a basketball game for the students/community while applying ways to spread information about recycling. From this activity, I learned about how important recycling is for the environment and for the health of our society from the facts gathered during the planning process for our team's basketball game. I think that young people should get more engaged in their communities because it's a great hands-on learning experience and is very beneficial for the community. An advice that I have for other young people who are my age and have never heard of "service learning" is to really push themselves out of their comfort zone and to explore their community more because the more that they learn and help the community, the more that their eyes will open to the importance of little aspects that makes up their community and society as a whole.

This was my first time completing a service learning project in the community. I really enjoyed engaging the children in a community that they did not often get exposure to. It was rewarding to see the knowledge they gained from the experience. I am an animal-lover so I really did enjoy visiting the sanctuary and helping the animals! Seeing the children have the same passion for animals as I do was a great experience. From this activity, I learned that you do not have to be a business or a wealthy person to give back to the community. Little by little, we gave something back and that was very rewarding. I would definitely do this project again with other classes. Young people should definitely become more engaged in the community. Through these projects they learn a lot about different areas of their homes, but the community also gains from fresh perspectives and new ideas!

Nonetheless, we have completed it and a storyboard of our experience. Thanks to all of you!
